Diego Contreras fueron los responsables de la misi\u00f3n que se estableci\u00f3 con los ind\u00edgenas chiquitanos, guarayos y otros, la cual dio origen a la poblaci\u00f3n de San Ignacio de Loyola class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Creaci\u00f3n de secci\u00f3n seg\u00fan la Ley de Fecha 12 de octubre de 1880.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud835\uddd8\ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddf6\u0301\ud835\uddee<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Su vocaci\u00f3n productiva es la actividad agr\u00edcola (caf\u00e9, asai, man\u00ed, papaya\u2026), la ganader\u00eda y el turismo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud835\uddd6\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf9\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee \ud835\ude06 \ud835\ude01\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddfc<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">San Ignacio de Velasco es la principal puerta de entrada al Parque Noel Kempff Mercado. Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad, declarado por la UNESCO. La monumental Iglesia de San Ignacio fue construida en 1761, con mano de obra chiquitana y reemplazada totalmente en 1974, a imitaci\u00f3n de la original. Se conserva su altar original y el p\u00falpito tallado en cedro recubierto con papel de oro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cueva de Yeso, situada a 2 km al noreste de la ciudad, es un lugar de donde en \u00e9pocas jesu\u00edticas, se extra\u00eda el caol\u00edn que se usaba para blanquear las viviendas en vez de la cal. No deja de ser interesante visitarlo y admirarlo. Tambi\u00e9n los feligreses rinden fe en las fiestas religiosas, realizando caminatas recorriendo 12 cruces talladas ubicadas a un lado del camino. Se sabe que fue dise\u00f1ado por escultores chilenos al parecer principiantes de su oficio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sus costumbres y tradiciones a\u00fan se conservan vivas; la revalorizaci\u00f3n del pasado misional, culminada con la reconstrucci\u00f3n del templo ha incentivado la creaci\u00f3n de los talleres artesanales que se constituyen en uno de los principales atractivos del municipio. La ciudad es sede del Vicariato Apost\u00f3lico (y Di\u00f3cesis de San Ignacio de Velasco) de Chiquitos, con jurisdicci\u00f3n de las provincias Velasco, Chiquitos, \u00c1ngel Sandoval y Germ\u00e1n Busch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La plaza (ver fotos) a\u00fan sigue contando con una buena cobertura de atractivos \u00e1rboles, dentro de los cuales sobresalen los enormes toborochis. Las calles rojizas de San Ignacio de Velasco son anchas y sus casas aleda\u00f1as a la plaza a\u00fan mantienen las caracter\u00edsticas de las construcciones jesu\u00edticas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddee<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Su clima es de tipo subh\u00famedo seco, tiene una temperatura media de 24.7\u00baC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud835\uddd7\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude00\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddee<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Se encuentra a 456 km de Santa Cruz de la Sierra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud835\udddb\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddef\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">63.186 habitantes (Proyecci\u00f3n de poblaci\u00f3n del a\u00f1o 2020.
